Vaccine registration opens up to over 65s

Wednesday sees the extension of the coronavirus vaccine registration to over 65-year-olds. Until now, one could only register for the vaccine if they were either over the age of 70, were chronic patients or were part of a key infrastructural group identified by the government.

According to Health Minister Petr Arenberger, there are around 670,000 people between the ages of 65 to 69. However, more than a third of this group has already been able to register, due to falling into one of the other categories as well.

By Wednesday mid-day, the state registration system had already received over 70,000 applications from members of this age group.
