Media: Petříček to be replaced by Zaorálek as foreign minister
Social Democrat Foreign Minister Tomáš Petříček told the Czech News Agency on Sunday that he has been informed by the Social Democrat chairman, Jan Hamáček,that he will lose his position in government. Mr. Hamáček himself has not yet confirmed this. According to some media outlets, the current minister of culture, Lubomír Zaorálek, is set take charge of the Czech Foreign Ministry in the future.
Meanwhile, Social Democrat deputy Jan Birke, may become the new head of the Ministry of Culture, according to Czech News Agency sources.
Mr. Petříček was the challenger of Jan Hamáček during this week’s Social Democrat party leadership election.
