Education Ministry: Robert Plaga will remain in office

There are no plans to remove Minister of Education Robert Plaga from the post, nor are any personnel changes envisioned, a ministry spokesperson told ČTK on Wednesday.

CNN Prima News and the iDNES.cz server had written on Tuesday that Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) would today probably recall both Plaga and Minister of Health Jan Blatný. Blatný is being replaced.

Speaking on Plaga’s behalf were representatives of non-profit and professional organizations in the education sector, as well as university rectors, who further argued that replacing him during the coronavirus current crisis would be irresponsible.
