No special Easter measures on roads, says police chief

The president of the Czech national police force, Jan Švejdar, says no special measures will be taken over the coming Easter weekend to ensure people are observing government rules aimed at stopping the spread of Covid-19. The police chief said that while it might involve more work, officers would carry out the same operations as every weekend.

Mr. Švejdar said police conducted between 100,000 and 120,000 checks daily when current measures, forbidding travel between districts, were introduced. Now it is between 90,000 and 100,000 a day.
