FAMUfest student film showcase set for April 28-May 2

FAMUfest, the annual showcase of films made by students of the Film and TV School of Prague’s Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU), will be screened online from April 28 to May 2, with limited socially distanced events held in an abandoned building.

The festival will present 63 competitive and non-competitive films in the thematic blocks, including feature directing, animation and experimental and documentary production. FAMUFest will also present undiscovered talents in photography and other media.

Concerts, discussions and the opening and closing ceremonies will take place in the empty Palác U Stýblů building to recreate a festival atmosphere, FAMUfest director Agáta Kolářová said. All films will be available for viewing on the website famufest.cz.
