Czechs to mark Earth Hour on Saturday evening

The Czech Republic will join the worldwide Earth Hour campaign against climate change on Saturday evening. Starting at 8:30pm local time, people will turn off their lights for 60 minutes to draw attention to energy waste.

Earth Hour will dim some of Prague’s best known landmarks including Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Petřín or the Old Town Square.

Prague and other cities around the Czech Republic first marked Earth Hour in 2012. More than 3,500 participated in the event last year.
