No to recognition of Prague, Prague-West and Prague-East as one district
The minister of the interior, Jan Hamáček, says that after speaking to Ministry of Health officials he had rejected an appeal for Prague and Prague-West and Prague-East to be considered a single district. Movement between districts is currently prohibited under measures aimed at curbing the spread of Covid-19.
The mayor of Prague, Zdeněk Hřib, and the governor of Central Bohemia, Petra Pecková, had asked for Prague and the two outlying areas to be considered all one district. Prague-West and Prague-East are part of Central Bohemia, not the Prague region.
However, Mr. Hamáček said this would be overly risky at a time when the Covid trend was improving.
