Tuesday saw new Covid infections fall, but number of hospitalised still very high

A total of 13,934 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Czechia on Tuesday, 1,400 fewer than on the same day a week ago, Health Ministry data show. The number of hospitalised patients fell slightly to 9,401, but is still at among the highest levels since the epidemic began. The reproduction number rose slightly from 0.94 to 0.97.

In total, 1.4 million people in the Czech Republic have tested positive for the coronavirus since March 2020 of which 1.2 million have since recovered.
