Former football boss used state subsidies to pay for private jets
The former president of the Czech Football Association, Miroslav Pelta, who faces charges of corruption linked to the allocation of sports subsidies, booked private jets to travel to meetings and matches around Europe, according to the association‘s financial accounts, Czech Radio’s flagship news channel Radiožurnál reported on Monday. The association reportedly paid around 100,000 crowns for each of Pelta’s “work” flights. The Czech Football Association is a non-profit organization which annually receives up to half a billion crowns in subsidies from the state.
