Czech violinist headlines Prague concert celebrating Ástor Piazzolla centenary

Violin virtuoso Jaroslav Svěcený and his guests celebrated the 100th anniversary of the birth of Argentine tango composer Ástor Piazzolla on Thursday with a streamed concert from Prague’s New Town Hall.

The concert, held under strict anti-epidemic measures, before just a handful of media, was broadcast via social networks to 12 countries, including three Latin American ones, where Piazzolla helped developed the “tango nuevo” style.
