Third highest weekend tally of new Covid cases registered

Some 9,066 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in the Czech Republic on Saturday, according to Ministry of Health data. The number was 1,200 more than for the same day the previous week and was the third highest tally for a weekend day since the pandemic hit the country.

There are currently over 168,000 known active cases of the coronavirus in the Czech Republic. The number of deaths has climbed to 21,717.

The reproduction number has risen slightly to 1.024.
