Percentage of positive tests exceeds 40 percent

Over 40 percent of the tests for Covid-19 conducted in the Czech Republic on Sunday were positive, according to figures from the Ministry of Health. That is the highest positivity rate seen in the country since January 9.

The number of new cases detected on Sunday was 4,002, which is around 1,100 more than on the same day last week.

The total number of active cases now stands at over 120,000, the highest figure since last October.  Around 6,000 people are hospitalised, with more than 1,260 in serious condition.
