Volume of coal mined in CR last year lowest since 1960s
The volume of coal mined in the Czech Republic last year was the lowest on the territory since 1965, according to Ministry of Industry and Trade data cited by the Czech News Agency.
2020 saw a 38 percent year-on-year decline in the amount of black coal mined; lignite was down by 21 percent. Analysts say the fall-off is part of a long-term trend that has been intensified by the impact of the coronavirus crisis.
