Sunday new Covid cases higher than previous week

Some 2,832 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the Czech Republic on Sunday – around 400 more than the same day the previous week. There are currently 103,000 registered active cases.

There has been a slight rise in the number hospitalised with the virus, which now stands at 5,553; almost 1,100 are in a critical condition.

The national Covid risk index is for the second day at 77 points out of 100, placing it in the highest bracket. The reproduction number fell slightly to 1.03.
