Babiš: Trials of school Covid testing to start this week

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš says trials of coronavirus testing at Czech schools will begin on Thursday. He said they were likely to be conducted in the Central Bohemian town of Sedlčany.

On Monday Mr. Babiš had been due to visit neighbouring Austria, where Covid testing at schools has been launched. However, fog prevented his flight.

The Czech government’s Council for Health Risks is due to discuss school testing and vaccinations for teachers and other staff on Tuesday.

There are plans for final-year students and older elementary school pupils to start returning from March 1.
