Monday Covid numbers up on same day last week

Some 7,663 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the Czech Republic on Monday, almost 500 more than on the same day last week. There are over 95,000 known active cases of the infection in the country and 5,855 people are hospitalised with it, 1,032 of them in a critical condition. To date almost 17,500 Covid deaths have been registered.

The national coronavirus risk index remained at 71 points out of 100 on Tuesday. The reproduction number fell slightly to 1.04.
