Czech leaders mull antigen tests at schools

Czech children may be allowed to return to classrooms under a scheme where they would receive regular antigen tests at schools, Novinky.cz reported.  The news site said that Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and Minister of Health Jan Blatný had been inspired by a similar approach being taken in neighbouring Austria.

Introducing such tests at schools would require legal changes. Austria is preparing a bill under which tests registered for professionals could also be used by non-professionals during a pandemic, Mr. Blatný said.

The minister of education, Robert Plaga, is to present a plan to cabinet on Monday under which final year students at secondary schools would return on March 1, the Czech News Agency reported on Sunday.
