Number of non-nationals in workforce triples in decade

Around 15 percent of the Czech workforce now comprises non-nationals, according to official data released on Tuesday. The number of foreigners employed by Czech firms almost tripled in a decade, according to figures for the period between 2010 and 2019. The number of non-Czechs has increased in all sectors of the economy.

A representative of the Czech Statistics Office said that without foreigners employment in the Czech Republic would not have increased: There were 407,000 more non-nationals in the workforce at the end of the 10-year period in question, while the number of Czechs grew by only 63,000.
