Government extends state of emergency until February 14
The Czech government has officially extended the current state of emergency until February 14, Deputy Prime Minister Jan Hamáček said on Friday.
The government had sought a 30-day extension, but its length was shortened by a week following a debate in Chamber of Deputies on Thursday.
The proposal of the minority ANO-Social Democrat government was supported by the Communists in exchange for policy concessions, which included a wider opening of schools, as well as winter resorts and accommodation services.
