Škoda Auto’s production dropped to 750,000 in 2020
The Czech Republic's biggest car maker, Škoda Auto, produced 753,013 vehicles last year, which is 17 percent less than in 2019, the company announced in a press release on Friday.
The main reason behind the drop is the 39-day production shutdown, which was in place during the first wave of coronavirus in spring.
Škoda Auto produced a total of around 480,000 vehicles at the Mladá Boleslav plant, with over 180,000 of them being the popular Octavia models. Another around 270,000 vehicles rolled out from the plant in Kvasiny.
The Czech carmaker delivered a total of 1,004,800 globally last year, which was a year-on-year drop of over 19 percent.
