Schools in Czechia could reopen for final-year students
Students and pupils studying for school-leaving exams or entrance exams to secondary schools and universities may be allowed to return to school even when the country is in the highest, fifth level on the counter-epidemic system PES, Health Minister Jan Blatný said after the government’s meeting on Friday.
At the moment, only kindergartens, schools for children with special needs and first and second grades of elementary school are open. All other students are on distance learning.
According to the health minister, children could return to schools at the beginning of February at the earliest, depending on the epidemiological situation in the country. If it is favourable, the ministry will also consider reopening schools for all first to fifth grade pupils, Mr Blatný has said.
