Miroslav Kalousek resigns his deputy’s seat

The chairman of the TOP 09 group in the lower house, Miroslav Kalousek, announced on Tuesday that he is vacating his deputy’s seat in Parliament.

He had previously announced that he did not intend to run in the 2021 general elections and said he wanted to vacate his seat for someone who would make good use of it in the upcoming election campaign.

Miroslav Kalousek has been in high politics for 22 years, serving as a former finance minister and the leader of TOP 09. He received a standing ovation from colleagues across the political spectrum.
