Hamáček: No danger of insufficient medical supplies
The Czech Republic has enough materials for administering Covid-19 vaccines to last for 65 days, the head of the coronavirus task force, Interior Minister Jan Hamáček, said on Wednesday.
Mr. Hamáček said that the state had last year ordered materials for vaccinations that should cover half of the expected consumption. The first new supplies should arrive by the end of the month.
An analysis carried out by the Ministry of Industry found that there was an imbalance in the level of stocks in different regions of the country. Mr. Hamáček said if some regions were short they could borrow syringes from teaching hospitals.
He also said that there were at present sufficient hospital beds to handle Covid-19 patients.
