Jewish community calls on protesters not to use Star of David

The Jewish Community of Prague has issued an appeal to protestors against government coronavirus restrictions on its Facebook page who wore the Star of David during Sunday’s demonstration against the ongoing measures aimed at curbing the spread of the epidemic. The community post highlights that there is a significant difference between the current restrictions and those that Jews faced under Nazi rule and that wearing the star is an insult to the victims of Nazism.

Christian and other church representatives also condemned the wearing of the star on Monday.
