Covid-19: About 15,000 people in the Czech Republic vaccinated so far
About 15,000 people, mainly medical staff and seniors, have been vaccinated have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the Czech Republic, former Minister of Health Roman Prymula told Czech Television. Only seven people have reported adverse effects, according to the State Institute for Drug Control.
Current measures against the spread of the virus may not be enough, and massive testing and rapid isolation of people testing positive must begin, he said in a separate interview with CNN Prima News.
Prymula predicted the number of new daily cases could rise to 20,000 from the record high of 17,000 set last week, as testing slowed during the Christmas holidays and social contact increased. On Sunday, 6,220 people tested positive, the most on a weekend since November 1. On Monday, there were 12,860 new cases.
