Nearly 5,000 new Covid cases detected Saturday

Some 4,957 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in the Czech Republic on Saturday. The number was about 1,500 higher than that recorded on New Year’s Day and brought the number of active cases to 116,307.

The number of registered coronavirus deaths has now reached 11,960. Some 5,901 people are currently hospitalised with the virus, with 881 of them in a critical condition.
