Coordinator: CR behind in preparing for vaccinations but can catch up

The Czech Republic’s national coordinator says that the country is behind when it comes to preparing a Covid-19 vaccination programme but should catch up within two or three months. Zdeněk Blahuta made the comment on Czech Television, adding that the matter ought to have been dealt with in the summer.

The first 10,000 doses of a vaccine could arrive by the end of the year, Mr. Blahuta said. Seven million of the country’s 10.7 million inhabitants should be vaccinated by the autumn of next year. The jabs will be covered by health insurance.
