Petr Čech to play for Chelsea in first competitive game since May 2019

A year and a half after ending his career, former Czech goalkeeper Petr Čech is set to play for Chelsea’s development squad against Tottenham in a Premier League 2 match on Monday, the website The Athletic wrote on Sunday.

The 38-year-old Czech, who serves as Chelsea’s technical and performance director, has not played competitively since retiring from Arsenal after the Europa League final in May 2019. However, he was registered as emergency cover in the club's Premier League squad list in October.

Before joining Arsenal Čech enjoyed the greatest successes of his playing career with Chelsea, winning 13 trophies, including the Champions League and four Premier League titles.
