Over 1,000 households still without electricity as strong winds continue to ravage parts of Czechia
Over a 1,000 households are still cut off from their electricity supplier E.ON as a result of high speed winds that have been registered in several places across the Czech Republic this weekend. E.ON spokesman Roman Šperňák told the Czech News Agency around noon on Sunday that electricians are doing their best to repair the connections as fast as possible.
Around 30,000 households were reported to be without electricity on Sunday after particularly strong winds being registered from the night of Friday to Saturday. However, most have since seen their connections reestablished.
Meteorologists issued a weather warning until Monday. They say wind speeds could reach up to 70 meters per second in central and south-western parts of the country on Sunday afternoon.
