Covid-19: Czech Army sending additional 400 soldiers to overloaded hospitals
The Czech Army will send 400 reinforcements to hospitals overloaded due to the influx of Covid-19 patients, Defence Minister Lubomír Metnar (ANO) said via Twitter.
The government is due to discuss on Monday increasing the number of deployed soldiers from 360 to 900, including 400 specifically earmarked to help hospital staff.
The army is already engaged in dozens of hospitals and social facilities around the country and has established a field hospital in Prague-Letňany for Covid-19 patients not in a serious condition.
