Survey: Developers take average of 11 months to acquire a plot
It takes developers an average of 11 months to acquire a selected plot of land in the Czech Republic, according to a survey by CEEC Research. Almost half of the 35 developers surveyed said they had significant problems acquiring plots for new construction projects.
The greatest complication in building on brownfields is the time required to change the zoning plan, developers told CEEC Research. The most attractive are plots near metro and railway stations or other transport hubs in cities.
On average, developers built 29 percent of their projects on brownfields, such as where defunct factory halls or warehouses. Almost three-quarters of respondents believe the state does not sufficiently support the revitalization of such plots, which are often located in lucrative urban areas.
