Investigation continues into poisoning of Becva River
An investigation continues into the poisoning of Becva River with cyanide last week, the worst environmental disaster in over a decade.
The poison killed all living organisms along a 40-km stretch of the river. Fishermen have already netted over 32,000 tons of dead fish from the respective stretch of the river.
Investigators have discovered the mouth of the canal from which cyanide flowed into the river, but the given canal is used by a number of companies which could have been responsible.
The culprit will face a high fine, up to six months in jail and the closure of the respective company.
