New health minister outlines further restrictions to curb spread of Covid19
The newly appointed health minister, Roman Prymula, has said there are no plans for measures that would negatively affect the economy, even though a lockdown would be the easiest solution in fighting the coronavirus pandemic. Mr Prymula made the statement at a press conference following his appointment to office. He said the main priority now was to tackle the problem while keeping the economy running and for primary schools to remain open for as long as possible.
The health minister said there were no immediate plans to impose a state of emergency, although the situation could change in the coming weeks.
In the next few days, the Ministry of Health plans to introduce further restrictions on the opening hours of restaurants and bars, keeping them closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. It also wants to limit the number of people at outdoor events to 100, and indoor events to 50.
