Prague to introduce distance learning in secondary schools and universities
Starting next week, universities in the Czech capital will introduce distance learning, Prague Mayor Zdeněk Hřib announced on Friday. Mr Hřib said Prague will be moved to the ‘red’ or high-risk category on the national ‘traffic light’ system under which coronavirus risk is assessed.
Mr Hřib made the decision after discussing the situation with hygienists. According to Prague’s chief hygiene officer, Zdeňka Jágrová, there were 29 schools affected by the coronavirus epidemic on Thursday, with around 30 teachers and students testing positive.
As of Friday, older pupils at elementary schools and students at secondary schools throughout the Czech Republic are required to wear face masks.
