Muchová through to fourth round of US Open

Czech tennis player Karolína Muchová has advanced to the fourth round of the US Open for the first time in her career. The No.20 seed was losing 3:5 in the decisive set to the Romanian Sorana Cirstea, but forced a tie-break in which she deflected three match points and won 6: 3, 2: 6 and 7: 6.

Another Czech player to advance to the round of 16 of this year’s tournament in New York is Petra Kvitová, who is due to face Shelby Rogers on Sunday for a place in the quarter-finals.
