Germany may take Czech Republic off list of “safe” travel destinations
Germany is considering taking the Czech Republic off its list of safe destinations in connection with the recent spike in Covid-19 cases, Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Smolek told Czech Radio of Friday. If that happens people entering Germany from the Czech Republic will have to go into a 5-day quarantine.
Meanwhile, the Czech Foreign Ministry will reportedly place the Canary Islands in the "high-risk" category of travel destinations, as of September 14th. Croatia will remain in the green “low-risk” category for the time being. Mr. Smolek said that while the number of infections was still high, the measures adopted by the Croat government were clearly effective.
