Average wage up by 0.5 percent in Q2 at CZK 43,271

The average gross monthly salary in the Czech Republic increased by 0.5 percent in the second quarter of this year to CZK 34,271, according to data released by the Czech Statistics Office on Thursday.

In real terms, taking into account inflation, wages dropped by 2.5 percent, which is the biggest slump since the end of 2013.

The median wage, a midway between the highest and the lowest levels, was CZK 29,123, up by 0.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

Some 80 percent of employees earned wages between CZK 14,659 and 56,263 CZK. Two thirds of employees earned less than the average wage.
