Czech national football team to play in Slovakia despite positive COVID-19 test

The Czech national football team which was set play Slovakia as part of the League of Nations tournament on Friday, will travel to the country and play despite one of the national side’s support team’s members testing positive for COVID-19. However, the team will travel to Slovakia on Thursday rather than on Wednesday as was originally planned, news site Aktuálně.cz reports, citing the national side’s spokesman Petr Šedivý.

The individual who tested for the coronavirus immediately left the hotel where the team is currently staying and went into quarantine, the spokesman said, adding that new tests have shown none of the players or wider team members have the disease.
