Olomouc’s Art Brut Film festival to feature work of four Czechs masters

This year’s edition of the Art Brut Film Olomouc festival will focus on four Czech figures from a genre also known as ‘outsider art’.

The work of pioneering Art Brut figure and Olomouc local Anna Zemánková is featured on Thursday at the Olomouc Museum of Art café terrace, along with that of sculptor and painter Jan Křížek.

Křížek spent most of his life in France and was active in a Paris surrealist group. Festival guest Martin Řezníček, who directed a documentary on Křížek, will present his film.

The ninth edition of the Art Brut festival will also feature the works of Jan Šimek and the Jindřich Vik.
