Communists want taxing of church restitutions and minimum wage rise in return for continued gov. support
The Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia wants to change its conditions for continuing to support Andrej Babiš’ minority government of ANO and the Social Democrats. Negotiations around seven new conditions, including taxing church restitutions, raising the minimum wage and an increased tax rate for companies, are set to begin between the leaders of the Communists and government next week.
Further points include maintaining quality health care or protecting natural resources from foreign ownership.
Communist Party Chairman Vojtěch Filip has not disclosed how he intends to push the new conditions through. A part of the Communist Party membership is unhappy with the conditions Mr Filip agreed with the main government party ANO, is concerned that the latter is stealing votes from the Communists.
