Czech painter, draftswoman and graphic artist.

Czech painter, draftswoman and graphic artist, representative of the Czechoslovak interwar avant-garde, who together with artist Jindřich Štyrský founded their own artistic movement of Artificialism and later became the most prominent representative of Czech surrealist art. Shortly after World War II she left for Paris, where she continued to produce art.

The illustrated project Czech Heroines was inspired by the centenary of voting rights for Czech women and the 200th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Czech writer Božena Němcová. It is a joint project by the Czech Centres, the Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia and Radio Prague International.
