Annual Landscape Festival underway in Prague
The eighth annual Landscape Festival got underway in Prague’s Žižkov district, bringing together about 40 different works of art and site-specific installations in public space by Czech and foreign architects and artist. The event was launched on Friday night with a concert by the bands Už jsme doma and Dunaj.
The aim of the festival, which runs until June 30, is to draw attention to forgotten public spaces and urban landscapes in the capital by transforming them into cultural hub.
The primary focus this year is on outdoor public spaces found in the transport hub above Florencmetro station at the foot of Vítkov hill, the cycle path under Vítkov, and other areas around Prague 3 municipal district.
