Temperatures higher than average in 2009
Temperatures last year in the Czech Republic were on average 0.7 degrees Celsius higher according to the Czech Meteorological Office. April was, for example, 4.8 degrees Celsius hotter than average. On the rainfall front, there was 75 percent more rain in March than usual but only around 40 percent of the average rainfall in September. The averages are deduced from measurements taken between 1961 and 1990.
