Crack down on taxi drivers without proper license at Prague airport
In a joint effort with the foreigners’ police, employees of Prague City Hall are currently performing daily inspections of taxi drivers at the capital’s Ruzyně airport. The operation, which started on January 12 and will continue for a few months, is meant to crack down on taxi drivers without a license who prey on passengers in the airport’s arrival hall. There are only three taxi companies that are licensed to serve Prague airport, but even during the first month of the operation, inspectors have seen a rise in illegal activity amongst taxi drivers. The airport falls under the authority of the foreigners’ police, but City Hall inspectors are participating in the operation to ensure that taxi drivers adhere to citywide regulations such as displaying prices and license numbers.
