Former world cyclo-cross champion Radomír Šimůnek dies at 48

Former world cyclo-cross champion Radomír Šimůnek has died suddenly at the age of 48. Šimůnek was the dominant figure in Czech cyclo-cross in the 1980s and ‘90s. After picking up two amateur world titles, he took the professional world title in 1991. In 1992 he was given a suspended sentence for causing the deaths of three people in a car crash. In recent years Šimůnek trained his son, Radomír Jr.
