Scary Monsters

Halloween, Czechs always say, is an import, a holiday that has taken root only recently. But the kids love it (at least in schools and nursery schools) and, more broadly, who doesn’t like being 'scared' once in a while?

In this week’s Sunday Music, to mark Halloween, we have a compilation of Czech songs across genres - country, folk, alternative, rock and pop - many featuring the word ‘strašidelný (the Czech word for scary). If there’s a scary creature in this haunted house, we’re going to find him!
