Bohemian history is very rich indeed but for many years Bohemia suffered under The Habsburgs, Communist, Nazi’s and others and lived through some of the worst wars in history and so the Czech people always wished for something, that would embody Bohemia as an idea and as a nation and that is why in 1881 the National Theatre was opened to the general public to carry upon its shoulders the hopes and dreams of a whole nation and it is doing that to this day.
