Judoka Krpálek not to compete in Budapest

Czech Olympic gold winner in the Rio games, judoka Lukáš Krpálek, will not be competing in the World Championships in Budapest due to a knee injury. Krpálek strained a tendon in his knee while training in mid-August.

The +100kg Czech judoka, who was considered one of the hot favourites in the upcoming championships, said he needed to give the injury time to heal.
