2010 - 93rd Segment: “Love in a Bun”

The 2010 Winter Olympics took place in Vancouver, Canada from February 12th to the 28th. The flag bearers were Jaromír Jágr and Martina Sáblíková.
On April 8th, Barack Obama and Dmitry Medvedev met in Prague to sign the New START treaty on nuclear disarmament.
The Czech ice hockey team won their last gold medal (to date) during the world championship when they defeated Russia 2:1 in the finals.
In 2010, on the 45th anniversary of the contest, the Golden Nightingale Awards were won by Karel Gott, Lucie Bílá and the band Kabát.
Among the songs performed at the State Opera House in Prague in 2010 was the duet “Love in a Bun.” The duo, Xindl X and Olga Lounová, were joined onstage by singers Lucie Bílá, Karel Gott and opera diva Eva Urbanová playing bells, the triangle and castanets respectively. The dancers on stage were also given instruments to play.“Love in a Bun” won over the entire Smetana Hall at the Opera House. That evening, Xindl X won a Golden Nightingale Award in the “biggest gainer” category.
