Corruption, elections, NATO... and the return of the salmon - all this and more in Insight Central Europe.

Just how bad is the problem of corruption in Central Europe? A report by the Open Society Institute and Transparency International says that all EU candidate states have made impressive progress in the lead up to enlargement. But it says transition has still been troubled by corruption that has persisted and flourished since the end of communism. But the report on corruption doesn't just deal with the candidate countries. It also points the finger at current EU members. It says the European Union itself lacks consistent and comprehensive anti-corruption policies.

In this week's program we'll hear about the main problems of corruption in central Europe and will ask whether EU member states were doing enough to fight the problem.

Also: General elections in Austria are just a week away - and parties are involved in one of the tightest election races in years. The Social Democrats and the Conservative People's Party are running neck and neck for first place - and the Freedom Party and the Greens are in close competition for third place

A historic NATO summit which is being held in the Czech capital Prague on November 21 and 22, - the first to be held in a former Communist country. Delegations will meet to decide on such vital issues as NATO expansion, the continuing threat of global terrorism, and a possible military strike against Saddam Hussein. We take a look ahead.
